Legal Nurses/Medical Review

We specialize in finding highly qualified registered nurses to review medical records, construct chronologies, draft narrative summaries, and analyze and render opinions on the standard of care provided. We will help with any case involving medical review such as medical malpractice, product liability, toxic tort, healthcare and insurance claims. There are three sub-categories of Legal Nurses. We will quickly provide people with the right combination of medical expertise and document review experience to meet your critical deadlines.

Registered Nurses (RN) - Registered Nurses with several years of clinical/practical experience. They can decipher most doctors' notes, translate medical abbreviations into plain English and give an overview of what the medical records say. Most (RN's) are comfortable with providing an initial assessment regarding whether or not the records reflect an appropriate standard of care.

Nurse Paralegals- Nurse Paralegals are typically nurses that have attended a paralegal training school. These candidates can perform traditional paralegal tasks, as well as functions related to medical review, cite checking, legal research, interviewing clients, and drafting court pleadings and legal documents.

Legal Nurse Consultants - These candidates are registered nurses, who have completed an accredited certification program and obtained their "official" certification (LNCC). These candidates are recognized with the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). Legal Nurse Consultants have completed a minimum of 2000 hours of legal nurse consulting, within the past three years. Legal Nurse Consultants are usually considered SME's (Subject Matter Experts) and can provide deposition testimony.

They're uniquely qualified to match your special skills requirements with experienced candidates.

Senior/Supervising Paralegal or Law Clerk (7+ years of experience) - Duties encompass those detailed for other paralegal and law clerk positions, but also include supervision of discovery and litigation support teams. Participates in evaluations and hiring decisions. Works closely with lawyers and clients on high-level matters. Position requires advanced knowledge of the law and legal procedures along with superior leadership and management skills. Experience in a specific legal practice area is highly preferred.

Other positions placed:
Case Clerk (up to 2 years of experience)
Junior Paralegal or Law Clerk (2-3 years of experience)
Midlevel Paralegal or Law Clerk (4-6 years of experience)

Librarians

Nearly every firm could use skilled library personnel, even those with smaller collections. Our clients constantly need librarians experienced with the numerous treatises, case reporters, and information binders that are the staples of legal research, as well as being extremely well versed in and comfortable with the paperless media that are swiftly replacing the more traditional information mining methods. Our clients are willing to pay top salaries to knowledgeable law librarians with information science backgrounds and generally afford them the opportunity to do much more than replace binder pages with update sheets and toss out old pocket parts. Law librarians in the 21st century need to be on top of the latest in legal computing technology. The need to migrate vast amounts of data in most large firms into a management system that permits its full exploitation has driven an increasing search for skilled library scientists.

Receptionists

The receptionist is, quite literally, the front line of a firm's public relations campaign and has the ability to make or break the firm's image during that crucial initial telephone or walk-in contact. A top-flight law firm receptionist possesses the same skill set and performs largely the same duties as do receptionists in most other industries, and is similarly as difficult to find. A star receptionist must be able to do more than regurgitate a string of last names followed by the ubiquitous "Hold, please," or "I'll put you through," (or worse, simply transferring without acknowledgment!) followed by punching a button and turning back to a book/magazine/computer game.
